  • Thermal Massage refers to alternating heat and cooling (usually -4C to 39C). This difference of more than 30C is used to activate a process of vasoconstriction and then vasodilation of local blood supply in the area being treated. It is this simple intervention that directly and indirectly manages inflammation, swelling and reduces pain.

  • No. Customers certainly feel the alternating heat and cold. They report this is stimulating and soothing, but never painful as the massage applicator is constantly moving and working muscle groups across a targeted injury area.

  • Both acute and chronic conditions can be treated; and this treatment is extensively used post surgery during a recover period to accelerate management of inflammation and healing. Can be used on nearly every part of the body to achieve localised improvement.

    Hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, neck, upper & lower back regions, hips, legs, knees, calves, ankles and feet are areas treated. Conditions might include arthritis, bursitis, rotator cuff injury, frozen shoulder, repetitive strain injury, muscular tension/pain, neck and back pain, twisted ankle, ACL recovery … and so much more

    However body areas with large bones and limited vascular network supply will respond less well.

  • No. Physiotherapy is one form of physical therapy that will principally focus on diagnosis, biomechanical manipulation, prescribed stretches & exercise, and application of a range of supports (strapping, strictures, boots, & crutches) to facilitate rehabilitation and recovery.

    CRYOSTAR Thermal massage is a treatment designed to directly tackle underlying processes of inflammation, swelling and pain present in any given treated area. A powerful treatment in its own right. But CRYOSTAR Shock massage is also a powerful complementary treatment for customers using other physical therapies; to assist them more quickly engage in physical therapy, secure benefits, and therefore recover more quickly.
